Further information on section 4-3. Basis for assessment and grading

The exam grade is published on Studentweb no later than three weeks after the exam or submission date. Grades in passed courses will also be available for sharing in the Diploma Registry.

Further information on section 4-8. Number of attempts for assessment

Number of examination attempts
A student may undertake in the same exam is up to three times. Dispensation for a fourth and final attempt may be granted in special cases. Applications are sent via the student portal to the study administration as soon as the need arises, and only after all three ordinary attempts have been used.

Applications that do not meet the requirements may be rejected. When assessing the fourth attempt, particular emphasis is placed on:

  • whether the course/study program is to be discontinued,
  • whether the course can easily be replaced by other courses at the vocational school,
  • an overall assessment of the course of study.

Further information on section 4-10. Re-sit examination, re-sit examination and re-take of compulsory activity

Re-sit examination (resit)

Resit fee: NOK 2200.
An invoice for the re-sit exam will be sent after the registration deadline has passed.

In the event of illness or other weighty reasons stated in the regulations, the student can apply for valid absence from exams and compulsory activities by sending an incident in the support portal to the study administration.

The deadline for applying is no later than the same day as the exam is held or the submission date. Valid documentation must be submitted within one week of the exam date and must contain the course code and the name of the exam in question in addition to the signed and stamped medical certificate.

If you are approved to be absent from the exam, the exam will not count as an exam attempt, and you could take a postponed or re-sit exam free of charge.

Arrangements for examinations, such as extended submission deadlines, are described in more detail in the guidelines, chapter 3, § 3 - 9.

Further information on section 4-12. Diplomas and results documentation

The diploma is a formal documentation of completed and passed degree-conferring study programs. It is a criminal offence to alter or falsify diplomas. Only one diploma is issued per complete study program.

Digital diploma

The vocational school issues digital diplomas available in the Diploma Registry for everyone who meets the conditions. The digital diploma is an electronically signed PDF, equated with a paper diploma.

The Diploma Registry is a national, verified solution where you can retrieve and share your diploma free of charge with educational institutions, employers and others.

The Diploma Registry requires an active Feide account or a Norwegian national identity number. Students who do not have this will receive their diploma free of charge in paper format. The postal address in Studentweb must therefore be updated at the end of the program.

Deferral of diplomas
Diplomas are issued automatically upon completion of the degree. Attempts to improve grades or ongoing appeal grades will result in diplomas not being automatically issued but postponing the issuance pending results.

You can apply to the study administration for improvement of grades, ask for an explanation or appeal against grades within 3 weeks after the result is available for the last course that gives a diploma.

Improved results after the diploma has been produced are documented with a transcript of grades, as a new diploma is not issued.

Duplicate of lost diploma
Students who have lost their original paper diploma can apply for a duplicate by sending a request in the support portal of the study administration. Documentation is required that the diploma has been lost, e.g. a police report, insurance certificate or remnants of the diploma. All pages are marked with "DUPLICATE".

If the duplicate cannot be produced, the vocational school issues a confirmation of the education obtained with a transcript of grades, provided sufficient documentation.

Fee: NOK 1000. Invoiced after approved application. Booking is done via the student portal.

Order a transcript of grades
A transcript of grades can be ordered in Studentweb under "Documents" and will be available under "Documents" after approx. 10 minutes. The printout is digitally signed, valid for two years, and invalid if printed on paper.

Paper printouts can be ordered via the support portal of the study administration. Note that the transcript only documents achieved results with achieved credits.
