Information about your Bachelor degree

In the study catalogue you will find detailed information about your program of study. Here you can look into details like the program learning outcomes and more in dept on each course that will be in your education plan for the three years. You will also see details about courses that are prerequisite for other courses.

Study Contract

In relation to the study offer, and after its acceptance, a contract was entered into by you and Noroff University College. The contract regulates study related costs, deadlines for payment, deadlines for cancellation, right to withdrawal, in addition to other significant terms.

Please read your study contract carefully!
After you have accepted the contract, you can find it on your ‘My page’.

NUC Regulations

In addition to the conditions regulated by the contract it is important that you, as a student, explore the university college regulations. They regulate admissions, rights to study, examination and assessment, rights to complaint and more.

You can find the regulations in Norwegian here: Forskrift for Noroff University College

The English translation can be found here: NUC Regulations

Semester Registration

All students must register in Studentweb during the start of every semester, deadline is September 15th. In Studentweb you will register for examinations for the courses in your education plan. You need to register for the courses so that you will be enrolled to the course in the learning platform. You will not have access to courses if you are not registered for them. After registration you will be confirmed to the Norwegian State Educational Loan Fund (Lånekassen), where applicable.

If there are any courses missing in your education plan, you need to contact Study Administration through the Support Portal.

Please see more information about the registration here.

Communication

It is important to know that communication with the academic staff is through E-mail, Microsoft Teams and the Noroff Support Portal.  All other communications channels are not formally used and NUC has no obligation to respond outside of these channels.

Teams should be used to interact with the Academic Team and your peers, whom also may be able to provide answers to your questions. It is highly recommended to use Teams and form study groups (colloquiums), as it always enriches the learning experience and makes studying more fun.

Each course has dedicated support time, this is often the best time to ask questions and discuss challenges.

  • The academic staff are divided into teams that cover each course, they will generally respond to you within 48 hours, if queried during working hours.
  • The Study Administration provides educational and non-academic support and is available during office hours.
  • Technical support is available during office hours.

Loans and Grants

All study programmes at NUC are approved for loans and grants in the Norwegian State Educational Loan Fund (Lånekassen). When you start studying in August, the earliest you can apply is mid-May the year of your enrolment. You can apply for both tuition fees and living expenses. Under certain conditions, Lånekassen may offer financial support for foreign citizens. For further information: Lånekassen

Once you have successfully registered as a student, the administration automatic reports it to Lånekassen for further processing. You get the opportunity to complete registration during the introduction week.

Tuition Fee

The current tuition fees can be found on the study programme pages on noroff.no/en.

Shortly after the semester has started, you can find your invoice(s) at Noroff Community, by logging in with your email address that you used with your application on apply.noroff.no

Individual adaptation

Students who need individual adaptations needs to submit an application to NUC Study administration through the Support Portal for this within the deadlines stipulated in the academic calendar. This application must contain documentation from an expert body, such as a doctor, psychologist etc, and describe the need for special arrangements in the examination situation. After your application is handled, you will receive an individual decision stating what is granted.

Academic calendar

In the academic calendar you will find an overview of relevant dates and important deadlines. This is not a total overview of everything happening, there might also be other activities. And this overview does not reflect your dates for assessments.

Academic recognition

Candidates wanting to be recognized for Prior Learning and Experience (RPLE) can apply for this. You are responsible for submitting the documentation that you wish to be assessed and the courses for which you are seeking academic recognition. Read more about the process here

Accommodation

For those wanting to move closer to our Campus, it is recommended that you start searching for a place to live as soon as possible if you are not already living in the city where the Campus is located. The residential market is considerably reduced closer to mid-August.

It may be a good idea to try to find a place to stay close to Campus for practical reasons, but you may also consider living on the outskirts of the city for economic reasons. Many also have good experiences with living in a collective together with other students.

  • Finn.no is the simplest place to start your search. The service allows push notifications for your stored searches.
  • Hybel.no is also an easy-to-use service, it is also a great source for additional information.
  • Airbnb.com is the most expensive, but a very good option for short term stays.
CAMPUS KRISTIANSAND

As a Campus student you are a member of the Student Welfare Organisation in Agder (SiA). They offer a large and varied selection of student dorms in central surroundings.

Student Account

As a student you will receive an account with Microsoft 365. The e-mail address will be based on a provided unique student ID, and end with @stud.noroff.no.

The @stud.noroff.no e-mail is your official student account. It is used to access Studentweb, the learning platform, Teams, more in-depth information and services in the Support Portal, and other important systems.

If you are having problems accessing services, you may need to log out and back in.

At the beginning of your student journey, you will receive an e-mail with login details to the registered private e-mail that you used when you applied to your study. This only applies to new 1st year students, as 2nd and 3rd year students already have access to their accounts.

Learning Platform

At Noroff we use Moodle as the learning platform. Moodle is an advanced Learning Management System (LMS) for organising and structuring teaching activities, learning activities and assessments to mention the most important. As a student you will be given access and information during the Introduction Week. See information about semester registration as well.

Study Schedule

The study schedule for your study programme is continuously updated and shared through TimeEdit. The learning platform provides an overview of important dates within a course and for its activities.

Equipment

As a student at NUC, you will spend a lot of your time in front of a computer. It is therefore essential that you have the necessary equipment for your study programme.

Campus students have full access to the auditorium, classrooms, and specialist labs on Campus.
Campus students are however encouraged to purchase their own laptop for a more efficient and flexible working environment. NUC is only responsible for equipment provided on Campus.

Students are responsible for their own hardware and software, and the maintenance and service of their own equipment.

  • Internet Connection

It is required that you have a secure and stable internet connection with good capacity to attend lectures, activities and submit assignments.

This applies to both Online and Campus students that choose to work from home, or otherwise external from Campus on occasion.

Remember that NUC has no obligations or supportive functions if you have problems with your own network and/or equipment. Restart your equipment or fully reboot the equipment by removing the power plug for 30 seconds. Or contact your Internet Service Provider as soon as possible.
